About us
Stand up, do something
HisBiz is about connecting the business and wellbeing worlds to support prosperous, healthy futures for Kiwi men. It's time to stand up and do something. It's time to put men's wellbeing back in the spotlight.
HisBiz begins....
2009 saw the impacts of the global economic crisis hit New Zealand. Waikato Times columnist Chris Williams put his devastation on paper when he wrote about a close friend committing suicide as a result of financial pressures. This sad story sparked discussion around the effects the global economic crisis was having on lives and business. As a result of those discussions a number of wellbeing and business organisations got together to discuss the issues facing men and how the future might look. The result of those conversations was HisBiz.
HisBiz connects...
Now a formal partnership between Waikato Chamber of Commerce and Workwise – HisBiz is aimed at connecting the business and wellbeing worlds to create prosperous, healthy futures for men.
It’s not a new men’s club. HisBiz is about really addressing the issues that men face and find difficult to discuss. It’s about finding and sharing tools; and encouraging real conversations.
HisBiz grew from one person’s story, but we all have stories to share. Our futures can and will be different. Men's wellbeing is important to everyone - families, friends, business and communities. Let's stand up and do something.
