"When people go to work they shouldn’t have to leave their hearts at home."
— Betty Bender
Well I suppose I am a few days late to say happy new year but I will say it anyway - Happy New Year.
The sales have come and gone, people are returning to work and a few resolutions may still be in tack.
The start of something new is always promising. Most business have at least one goal - generate more income than expenditure. As people we work within setting that have goals but often find setting our personal goals much more challenging.
I think this may be due to the competition for our attention and how we are influenced around what our goals should be. How should we be happy? How are we successful? What is the right level of income to feel rich? How many holidays should i have and to where?
Our goals should make us happy. We should set happy goals for 2014. It doesn’t mean they won’t be hard, or challenging, or take effort but once we achieve them they will make us happy.
For me, as for several years, 2014 will be about being more generous with my time to others, in giving and in life. It is more of a long term goal than a yearly event. I hope to volunteer at a large sporting event this year which i am excited about and will make me happy.
I hope whatever goals you have set for 2014 they make you happy :)
Tim’s Place - looks good
There is a bit of a batman joke in our office although I do like the happiness element of this :)
